Physical Therapy will employ physical agents such as heat, light, water, electricity, massage, radiation, and exercise to restore patients to their maximal level of physical function. Speech Therapy will use knowledge about speech, hearing, and language to plan and implement a realistic program to increase the patient's communication skills. The patient's emotions affect speech; thus, psychological aspects are an important consideration in speech therapy. Occupational Therapy will use specified therapeutic, self-care, homemaking, and creative activities to facilitate or maximize the patient's level of function. Both the psychosocial and the physical aspects of the patient's condition are assessed in terms of the total context for treatment.
